As we approach the beginning of Yom Kippur - this fast day is the holiest day of the year— It is a time that we are supposed to be closest to G‑d. This Holiday is the Day of Atonement—“For on this day He will forgive you, to purify you, that you be cleansed from all your sins before G‑d” (Leviticus 16:30).
As Jews around the world go into this holiday, we look to atone for our sins.
I am not perfect and no one is; this time of 25 hours of reflection is to look where we have been wrong and where we can do better.
I entered this political race as a calling and every day we are working hard to do better to win this November to Take Back Connecticut and Heal this Country.
I cannot call out all of the sins of my opponent (as there are too many) but there are a few glaring ones that come to mind this year:
Voting against the Israel Security Assistance Support Act
This bill specified that no federal funds may be used to withhold, halt, reverse, or cancel the delivery of defense articles or defense services to Israel.
As someone who claims to be a friend of Israel, Jim failed to stand up to defend Israel
After October 7th, Jim posted a message supporting the Council of American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and claims to support Israel
Jim cannot support both Israel and CAIR and take funds from AIPAC
Voting against the “Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act”.
This is a bill that expands the crimes and other grounds for which illegals are deportable.
This amendment makes any sex offense (including crimes against minors) or conspiracy to commit a sex offense a basis for deportation.
The bill also expands the domestic violence crimes to deport illegals that engage in physical or sexual abuse or a pattern of coercive behavior when it occurs within certain close relationships.
This bill should have no opposition and to allow such behavior by those illegals who broke laws to enter this country to take it further to commit violent acts against women and children and violate additional criminal laws is truly a sin to allow.
Voting against the “Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act or the SAVE Act”
This bill is critical to voter integrity as it requires documentary proof of U.S. citizenship in order to register to vote in federal elections.
This bill requires states to remove non-citizens from their voter roles.
This bill also allows legal action against election officials that fail in their duties to register applicants and provide criminal penalties for certain offenses.
Election integrity is critical and voter ID is critical to fair elections. it is tragic that it has gone along partisan lines. We know someone who can vote with his supermarket card even though he has proper federal identification.
We are here fighting a David v. Goliath battle as the underdog. We could use your support so we can get the message out and volunteers to help spread the word.
I ask for two things from you -
Support where you can; and
Send our content to friends to expand the base
Have an easy fast for those fasting and a sweet new year for us all when you take action at the ballot box this November.
Sharing is Caring - so if you like the message please pass it on.
Thank you for your continued support. We could really use it to get the message out to many others.
