The Chilling Effect on Good Samaritans and the Race Card
The Court of Public Opinion continues to be weaponized

Daniel Penny (the marine) was acquitted in chokehold death of Jordan Neely. It resulted in two diverging responses – Applause vs. Uproar and Relief vs. Rage.
The deceased was Neely, a 30-year-old who was a homeless man who made threats on an uptown F train on May 1, 2023. Arguments were made that he died from his schizophrenia, his drug use (with K2 in his system), his genetic conditions and his continued struggle with Penny once he was restrained.
It is also important to mention that he is a career criminal in a system that does not punish nor imprison repeat offenders. Therefore, the deterrence factor against criminal behavior is removed. Neely reportedly had 42 arrests. including petty larceny theft, and three unprovoked attacks on women. These innocent victims and their suffering is a consequence of our revolving door criminal justice system that does not protect the victims.
“I think the jurors all put themselves in that subway car, heard the fear of the passengers and identified with it — and rejected the criminalization of the actions Mr. Penny took in the face of clear danger,” Thomas J. Curran, a former assistant DA in Manhattan, told The Post.
Following the verdict, Mayor Eric Adams, noted that this case and the death highlighted the flaws in our system that failed Neely and others suffering from mental health issues and/or drug dependency.
Many have called for the resignation of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg for this case and for bringing other recent cases, including against President Donald Trump.
Verdicts have consequences. They either send a message to deter future behavior or they lead to a riot-like behavior. Well in this case, the worst of both outcomes has occurred:
1) Good Samaritans will be afraid to step up to protect others and await for law enforcement which could result in greater public harm; and
2) The riot behavior increased with protestors following the verdict will continue to create conflict.
This verdict and cases like this continue to exacerbate the cracks in the American foundation that have been weaponized, especially in politics: race, crime, mental health and treatment of homeless.
In this instance, Neely was Black. Penny is White. Race played no part of Penny’s decision to come to the aid. He simply employed his training to put service above self and put his own life at risk to save others.
To be fair, there is still racism and antisemitism in this country, but that does not mean that every crime where the criminal and victim are of different races is racially motivated. It is appalling that some are calling Penny the George Floyd of the right.

The father-son team continues on so please spread the word and lets really rebuild CT together in a meaningful way.
Here's a new one Dr. Goldstein so you can point out to people the mistake they made in NOT voting for you last month This from the formerly Free Press (Bari is a censor, not a free speech advocate)
He’s still the sitting president, so we begin here. Another week brings us yet more details on how far Biden has been falling mentally, this time coming from The Wall Street Journal, where a team of reporters describe an insulated, out-of-contact Joe, beginning when he took office. Over his presidency he’s had very, very little contact with people you’d think of as important top figures in the government. We already know he didn’t do evenings, but he wasn’t great in the mornings either. But the 40 minutes in the middle of the day after his nap and before his IV drip? That’s the gold right there. Right at 2:20–3? That’s when America is Online.
“[I]n the spring of 2021, a national security official explained to another aide why a meeting needed to be rescheduled. ‘He has good days and bad days, and today was a bad day so we’re going to address this tomorrow,’ the former aide recalled the official saying.”
Ahead of the disastrous U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, key government figures couldn’t get in touch with Joe. As inflation crushed consumers, then–Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen was on her own.
Here’s Rep. Jim Himes of Connecticut, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee: “I really had no personal contact with this president.”
The same James Himes who was an ardent supporter of the Senile Imbecile and told us over and over he was "sharp as a tack" admits he had no contract with the old fraud???? And this dolt in on the "intelligence" committee? Boy did CT ever make a mistake. But that's what Democrats, do, isn't it? Tell the biggest lies to themselves. And believe them.
Your write "to be fair, there is still racism and antisemitism in this country." That does not advance the narrative and it is blind to the ugly Black racism that was exhibited by the BLM clowns who openly called for attacks on Whites in New York. How about we all call that out? And how about we also call out the hypocrisy of Bragg in not charging them for violation of New York laws against incitement to riot? Or is inciting race riots now within the bounds of acceptable behavior?
