YOUR CHILD - YOUR CHOICE
Democrats are the Real Racists by failing our school children - VOTE AUGUST 13th
I gave the speech last week and this is an excerpt about our urban and inner cities. It is also about our general school system here in Connecticut.
The issues facing Connecticut parents are no different than a lot of other places. I keep hearing that the Republican party is the party of racists. The Republican party and all Republicans have been unjustly accused of being a group of racists that is amplified by a media bias.
Nutmeggers of this Constitution State - It is time to flip the script.
The real racists are the Democrats who have been able to achieve unbelievable amounts of grants and program funding, especially in inner cities, Yet, the return on these “investments” is not better education, but losses of future earning income and generations of poverty.
Our children in inner cities are especially at risk. It is a result of the Democrats that are perpetuating a lack of upward social mobility due to failing schools. I am a fighter and I am not afraid to call them out throughout the State. In my district, Mr. Himes is the real racist because he has done nothing to fight for school choice in cities like Bridgeport, Norwalk and Stamford. I believe there are parents who may be registered Democrats that believe the same thing and will support candidates like me.
As a physician that treats patients from all walks of life, I have a lot of first-hand experience treating children that attend public, private, charter and parochial schools. There is a noticeable difference among the children enrolled in charter schools. Those parents are happy their child made it to a charter school because they know their child has a path to success. For other parents that can afford it, they send their children to Catholic and other religious schools and also have that same level of hope.
The way we end racism in our inner cities is to improve education through competition and choice. This concept is hard to get past Democrat controlled cities. Competition can be viewed as threat to these failing education programs that receive funds but are not making an impact. This is in contrast to private after-school and other supplementary programs that rely on private donations. These are the programs that provide much needed services on a shoestring budget.
Just like students get graded, it is time for our schools to be held accountable for their failures to properly educate our children. It is critical that there is a meaningful return on the investment that taxpayers fund through federal government grants, real estate taxes and other sources of funding.
In Bridgeport, 70.9 percent of school funding comes from the State, 19.2% is local (real-estate taxes) and 9.9 percent comes from the federal government. Bridgeport is ranked 161 out of 165 Connecticut School Districts.
It is our moral obligation to leave no child behind and the only way to do so is through a competitive and more robust education system. Public school education is not competitive. While education is not considered a business in the traditional sense, it is really the business of creating economic opportunity to train our future leaders.
Our children deserve to thrive. When our youth, especially urban youth, start off at a scholastic disadvantage due to failed schools with no other options, this is a form of racism that must be exposed and solved.
For Parents, I say to you – Your Child, Your Choice. If elected as your next Congressman, I will fight for a federal solution that will make education competitive through a meaningful access to school choice. School Choice can be achieved through investment in charter schools, school vouchers and working with the state to have school dollars follow the child to reduce the economic burdens associated with paying for religious and private schools. These home-schooling collectives that have sprouted up in the wake of Covid are not a sufficient alternative to this perpetual public school crisis that continues to leave our children behind while perpetuating this form of racism.
MAKE YOUR VOICES HEARD ON AUGUST 13th BY GOING TO THE POLLS.
Thank you for your continued support.
