If Northeast liberals didn't have hypocrisy, they'd have no principles, at all.

Michael,

Almost immediately you betray yourself as untrustworthy for any form of objective commentary or analysis. Look at your first few paragraphs: "... Since 2016 up until this election and then afterwards, the amount of hatred for President Donald J Trump has been a consistent theme by the LIBERALS, MSNBC, CNN and ALL LEFT MEDIA.." As if everyone and every organization who opposes this criminal president and his flunkies are some kind of alien species rather than your countrymen; and all his brainwashed asskissers are some kind of higher lifeform. Also, you seem to ignore the fact that strong emotions (and hatred when it exists) almost always has a serious motivating cause behind it; antisemitism, islamophobia, greed, racism, and most pertinently, ignorant and destructive ultranationalism, But so long as you can't control your compunction to use juvenile name calling and an utterly subjective and indoctrinated approach to even discussing the serious global crisis that is our current executive, the rest of your comments are not worthwhile. And don't say I'm also name calling: the current president is a convicted criminal, and brainwashed asskissers doesn't even begin to describe people like MTB and the rest of the incompetent losers he surrounds himself with.

Michael, the conservative/liberal divide is fairly symmetrical with bad behavior on both sides. I, for one, don't hate DJT. I disagree with some of the things he is doing as President and the way in which some of those things are getting done - i.e. DOGE. (I might be negative and sarcastic at the dinner table, however. Such is human interaction.)

The question of screening for prostate cancer in an 80 yo man is also not as simple as you make it. I was a primary care physician for 45 years. I taught the pros and cons of screening for everything from cancer to glaucoma. It is possible to more harm than good subjecting elderly men to biopsies, surgery and radiation. A 90 yo friend died after a lung biopsy for what turned out to be a benign nodule. A patient of mine almost died of sepsis after a prostate biopsy. These things happen.

I do think that medical decisions should be driven by statistics and science when available. I am not sure whether I would have done a rectal exam on the president if I were his PCP. Rectal exams are no longer recommended to screen for cancer.

So you're in favor of waste and abuse in government? With what other policies do you disagree? Border security and deporting illegal aliens? Trying to end the war in Ukraine? Cleaning up our food supply and introducing science and data back into our drug supply? Introducing rationality into our trade policies? Ending so called gender affirming care and the mutilation of children? Do tell.

Bruce, I am certainly opposed to fraud and abuse in government. As a doctor I was on the receiving end of Medicare's search for fraud and abuse and it is not pretty. Medicare is scary big.

I am not in favor of outright corruption like accepting gifts and grift through business ventures and $Trump coins.

I don't agree with arresting and deporting people without due process. I don't agree with firing air traffic controllers that we need to keep us safe. I don't agree with the way Elon Musk did his DOGE activities. I don't agree with tax cuts that are balanced on the backs of poor Americans.

Still, I do not hate Trump. I just wish he were a bit more thoughtful.

If a person is lawfully in our country - meaning entry under our laws - I have no problem with affording them due process. People who are illegally in our country, however, are subject only to the "due process" of administrative removal. How do you think every other nation on earth would treat you if you sneaked across their border? Or do you think law breakers should be rewarded? And on that subject, how do you feel about knowing now that your president was both mentally and physically incapacitated for the entirety of his term and that our nation was run by an unelected cabal of Democrat operative in patent violation of Article II of our Constitution? A more 'thoughtful" president than Trump would temporize? We need a wrecking ball to reverse the lunacy and treason of the last four years.
